You open a Terminal window and you type:
 sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Then add the SWCursor option to the Device section like this:

Section "Device"
Identifier "NeoMagic Corporation NM2380 [MagicMedia 256XL+]"
   Driver "neomagic"
   BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
   Option "SWCursor" "true"
EndSection

Then save, quit, log out and press ctrl-alt-backspace and log in again.

To get xrandr output, type this in a Terminal window:
 xrandr > xrandr.txt
and attach the file xrandr.txt (which should appear in your home directory) to
this bug report.
