OK your Xorg.0.log says: (--) NVIDIA(0): DPI set to (47, 46); computed from "UseEdidDpi" X config Which isn't far off the number I've calculated when using the manufacturer dot pitch (I think it came to 49.7, 49.7). If the used DPI really is that low should definitely cause the font sizes to be reduced to compensate for the HUGE pixels. Firefox has an option to set the DPI separately so that may explain why that seems to be OK. I would still like to see the output of the xdpyinfo Can you also indicate what the DPI is in the GNOME font configuration tool and whether the fonts look too small when you use the open source nv drivers?
