The RAID is a data volume only containing /home, everything else is on a single 
small SSD. The boot bug I  would not see as a result. 

The mdadm signatures are on partitions only, not whole disks. The dmraid
signatures on on the whole disk MBR's according to the BIOS.  I have not
removed them and don't intend to because the disks work fine with dmraid
removed and mdadm reading the partitions. Not going to experiment on
these disks now that they are loaded and backed up. I would worry about
corrupting the partition tables and losing 5 hours of copying time.
Both signatures at one, both in MBR and NOT on partitions, I assume
would cause the last one written to corrupt the first one written.

Current setup is mdadm raid, and it works.
