The edit is due to me being a beginner in command prompts and Linux. I was typing up the previous report on another PC when the screen on the HP NX9420 went black. I thought it was some power-saving thing, so I reached over and tapped HP NX9420 keyboard randomly.
The screensaver disappeared. I tap the <<Enter>> key. The <<blinking cursor>> moved down a line! I tap the Enter key a few more times, and the cursor proceeds to move down a few more lines.
