Public bug reported:

When opening liferea and it refreshes its newsfeeds (even with the
example feeds it has allready "builtin") it seems to freeze from a user
standpoint of view. It does not show any kind of progress bar or
something like that while downloading. It just litterally freezes and
even is greyed out as "not reacting" program.

possible fix:
put the downloading of the newsfeeds in a seperate process/thread and show at
least some kind feedback to the user so that he knows the programm is not
crashed and does something.
