I haven't tried ubuntu 12.04 Beta 1 yet as it is too slow to download at this point, but I experience random freezes as the above mentioned in a fully updated kubuntu 12.04 Beta 1. An external usbmouse works fine though. I've tried to move back to the 3.2.0-17 kernel and even though it seemed like it solved the problem for a while it happened there as well.
I'm on a HP pavilion dm1-4100 with amd all the way. No indications in any of the logs about what is happening as far as I can see anyways.
