Public bug reported: When running as a regular user the command 'sudo update-manager -d', sudo strips the environment of the http_proxy variable which is needed for "apt-key netupdate" to run wget and update Ubuntu keyring.
Even setting the proxy environment variables from /etc/environment or modifying the APT proxy settings via Acquire::http { Proxy ... } as apt- key calls wget to fetch the keyring instead of using APT internals. ** Affects: apt (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/957142 Title: apt-key calls wget without proxy environment variable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/957142/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
