Petri, couldn't hurt to try booting different kernel versions, however
my bet would be that this may be a bug in the nvidia binary driver.   If
changing kernel versions doesn't solve it, it might be worthwhile to try
installing a newer version of their driver (see
http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html).  I haven't tested it out
myself, so don't yet know if there are problems with it; as far as I
know, we won't be backporting this driver to Feisty (I plan to add it to
Gutsy in the next week or two, but you probably don't want to install a
pre-beta ubuntu release on your system!)   Anyway, there are some

Also, if you ever see it when you're *not* running openoffice, that
would be a useful data point for tracking this down further.
