The setup of modems before and after switching can not be influenced by
usb_modeswitch. The device firmware is responsible for that. Did you do
a device update perhaps?

To disable mode switching temporarily and access the pseudo CD-ROM, you
can also set the "DisableSwitching" parameter in
/etc/usb_modeswitch.conf to 1.

Note that in the majority of cases the files on that install drive are not very 
useful except for the MS Windows system.
And don't confuse the MicroSD card slot of the modem (your interface 5) with 
the install storage.
