The symptom I am having with the computer not booting: 1) The hard driver is accessed momentarily but then nothing happens (no sustained HD read, no boot, no banner, no BIOS) 2) Touching the power button momentarily turns the computer completely off instantly. 3) Attempting to start the computer again results in #1 Holding the Esc, F1 or F2 keys down while powering up DOES NOT result in a system set-up screen. I have removed the batter and power cord multiple times without any change in behavior.
I finally got it to complete a boot procedure- Inserted a USB key with Ubuntu installed on it, powered up and removed it when I saw a sustained HD activity. Not sure if there was any connection. The computer is up and running now and has been for a couple of days. I am reluctant to shut it down as I may have difficulty bringing it back up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/952281 Title: System will not boot unless the battery is charging To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/952281/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
