Public bug reported:

I'm using an external 5.1 sound card from "Trust". Until ubuntu 11.10 I
could switch to 5.1 on the sound settings dialog. Now I'm testing the
beta of ubuntu 12.04 and my sound card shows up as S/PDIF and I'm unable
to switch the mode (it's grayed out). However when selecting the device
it plays the sound through my two front speakers - so it doesn't seem to
be in digital mode really.

The device is shown up as USB Sound device on the auto setting dialog.
lsusb only says "Trust".

The console based application "alsamixer" shows up all channels (Front,
Back, Middle, Bass).

** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
