Works all right for me on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with the very same scanner. I have used the latest firmware from Agfa. Maybe that would sort the problem?
As far as I'm concerned, I'd say the bug should be closed. @Alexander Schilling: you get this message because there is a manual configuration step to be done in the config files (in /etc/sane.d/snapscan.conf ) where you need to specify which "firmware" you are using. Firmware, here, is a binary file that you have to get from the Windows drivers. if you're using windows XP, it's in Windows\system32\snape20.bin . If you don't have windows installed, you can run the driver installer using Wine and get the file from your local .wine/drive_c/windows/system32/snape20.bin directory... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106362 Title: Agfa Snapscan e20 : Xsane displays pop-up messages and crashes sometimes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xsane/+bug/106362/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
