Public bug reported:

I'm writing my M.Sc. thesis in LyX. After upgrading from Feisty to Gutsy (where
tetex has been replaced by texlive), my report expands from 36 pages to over 50
pages.
Figure floats used to fit two-on-a-page, while now each float occupies its own
page. Text under figures is about 5cm down from the picture, where it used to
be just under the picture in tetex.

I tried to compile the same file on a computer with feisty (thus tetex)
and it works correctly.

** Affects: texlive-base (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
