If like I was, you're continually checking this bug, waiting for the fix to propagate to 11.10 because flash keeps going soundless for you, then try deleting ~/.pulse/ and restarting, then set your preferences again in pavucontrol. This appears to have resolved the problems I was having for over a month when using flash with my USB audio device.
