I expect the same behaviour here after changing the system hardware from a nvidia card. I am using a sandy brigde graphics now (xeon) - which is the case in this bug as well.
VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) If I run lightdm --test-mode with xephyr, I'll get a correct result (the given picture shows up). So settings seem to be OK: cat /etc/lightdm/unity-greeter.conf [greeter] background=/home/me/.cache/gnome-control-center/backgrounds/05f06bfdd4b978cb282f07ee7b1dc3849215ff85ea6467378e40caa5c3330855 logo=/usr/share/unity-greeter/logo.png theme-name=Ambiance icon-theme-name=ubuntu-mono-dark font-name=Ubuntu 11 xft-antialias=true xft-dpi=96 xft-hintstyle=hintslight xft-rgba=rgb These issues occure with the mainline 11.10 Kernel as the new 3.2.7-ppa Kernel as well. So this seems to be a graphics hardware/driver issue?! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/909176 Title: black screen after logout using gnome 3.2 lightdm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/909176/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
