I can confirm it. I tried to install Ubuntu Server 12.04 beta AMD64 in a kvm-virtualized machine using the iso file.
After tasksel (it doesn't care what I choose or not) and getting some files it fails with a red backgroud like the image ''Installation failed' error after tasksel selections made' attached to this case.
