Public bug reported: Most likely a duplicate from #890243, but I am surprised that the package has been updated from version 2.0.12 in Oneiric to 2.1.8 in Precise and still the missing icon bug was not fixed. I am using Gnome Shell and when searching for / launching Spyder, the expected icon does not show up in the launcher.
In the original bug report, Peter Wurtz proposed to modify the .desktop file to include an icon entry (currently missing) with the right path to the icon file, located in "/usr/share/pyshared/spyderlib/images/spyder.svg". The line to add in file "spyder.desktop" would then be: Icon=/usr/share/pyshared/spyderlib/images/spyder.svg ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: spyder 2.1.8-1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-17.27-generic 3.2.6 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-17-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 1.94-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sat Mar 3 13:19:09 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Beta amd64 (20120301) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_GB:en TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: spyder UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: spyder (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945590 Title: missing icon for Spyder To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/spyder/+bug/945590/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
