Confirming the issue as we got many reports today at the IRC that the
new lightdm was causing issues when doing the login.

I believe the issue is mostly sorted now, and it main cause is related
with the way the lightdm-session wrapper is calling gnome-sessions, by
not quoting it properly (this will cause the script
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/20x11-common_process-args to believe it has one
extra argument, and will not set the STARTUP var).
