I think I have the same bug as what is discussed here. I am on a ubuntu 11.10 and have also tried on the daily build (2/29/2012) of ubuntu 12.04 precise and I get the same problem on both.
I bought a new Logitech MX 5500 keyboard + mouse combo. It would not work, no keystrokes or mouse movement. I have found two solutions on the internet for Ubuntu 11.10, both involve hooking up another mouse/keyboard that does work with ubuntu. Remember, both solutions assume you have another keyboard/mouse that work. Solution 1 - Open up the bluetooth settings and search for bluetooth devices. It will find the mouse and keyboard and you can sync them up. This method worries me because if something happens to disconnect the mouse/keyboard you will have to restart this procedure. Solutions 2 - Edit /lib/udev/rules.d/62-bluez-hid2hci.rules to comment out the two lines under #Logitech Devices No, I do not really understand what is causing the issue, but I know how to get it working for now. I also tried it on a daily development build of 12.04 today to see if the problem has been fixed, and it had not been. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/443368 Title: Logitech MX5500 usb BT dongle won't go hci mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/443368/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
