I was having crashes on my system you see with ext3 when it couldn't
delete the files quicker enough because I had 'Slow delete' enabled.
The issue with ext3 is that it doesn't handle large files very well
compared to xfs/jfs.  It might be causing problems if it tries to remove
the files too quickly.

If not its prob down to a combinations of your cards etc as you
suggested, and if the new version works should prob be closed
