Public bug reported: Hi, I'm new on Ubuntu and I would like to install ubuntu 11.10 on my laptop acer ferrari 1005 model. I already downloaded ubuntu 11.10- amd64.iso and burned it on DVD. But during installation it crashed. I've tried many times and tried it from usb stick.
I guess it has some hardware incompatibility or BIOS OEM protection or something. Actually I don't know about BIOS. Anyone could help me to install it? I found post on this address and my laptop specification is same as below : http://web.archive.org/web/20070703210033/http://rbak.demon.nl/ubuntu/acer_ferrari.php CPU 2 AMD Turion 2.0 GHz 64 bit [ OK ] Graphic Card ATI Radion express 1150 250 MB [ OK ] Hard Disk 160 GB HDD [ OK ] Screen 12.1" WXGA 200-nit high-brightness TFT LCD [ OK ] RAM 2048 MB DDR2 667 MHz [ OK ] CD/DVD-ROM Fire Wire Externel slim drive CD/DVD-ROM Fire Wire Externel slim drive [ OK ] Ethernet 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet [ OK ] Wi-Fi met NDISWRAPPER 802.11 a/b/g or 802.11 b/g wireless LAN [ OK] USB ports 3 USB 2.0 ports [ OK ] TV Output TV Output [ NT ] Screen Output Screen Output [ NT ] IRDA FIR [ NT ] PCI driver PCI driver [ NT ] FireWire IEEE 1394 [ OK ] Bluetooth Bluetooth [ OK ] Modem 56K ITU V.92 [ NT ] Audio Output Audio [ OK ] Audio Input Audio [ OK] service manual service manual [ OK] User Guide User Guide [ OK] ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/940102 Title: acer ferrari 1005 install crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/940102/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
