I've played with the scim-qtimm source package a little. It seems the Debian patch "10_qt-immodule_install_dir.dpatch" triggers this error for me. However, this patch is not the issue itself - it just sets the INPUTMETHODSDIR=/usr/lib/qt3/plugins/inputmethods to the correct path. It may be linking with those plugins what causes the problem. These plugins are included in the libqt3-mt package.
