I encountered this bug for the first time with a X update from xorg-edgers ppa for oneiric, last december iirc. It seems to be present in the xorg-edgers X stack, and in the default 12.04 X stack too.
There are other input bugs that may be linked to this one, like "never revealing Unity launcher" on "autohide", even with the highest sensitivity, and pointer bugs in wine that are not triggered with the same wine+game versions on oneiric (with the default X stack).
