Unfortunately it appears this will not be fixed for Feisty. It would involve changes that are too invasive for a stable release. Something will be done for the next release (7.10) for sure. For now what you want is to get the Edubuntu Classroom Server Add-on CD. It has all the educational apps on it. The Desktop CD is mostly for demos of Edubuntu and things like that. It isn't really the recommended way to install Edubuntu at this point. We are working on getting the wording of the download pages adjusted to reflect this. Sorry about this bug. It was a unforeseen side-effect of adding a 2nd CD for Edubuntu.
