Yep , it can be a good feature to add .

That's right, it could ( just like /etc/fstab if you have reformatted
the whole computer , or even /etc/X11/xorg.conf if you have changed
your graphic card .) . That's why sbackup does save the previous file
to file.<date_before_backup> . so that you could restore the previous
file.

Problem is, I might find it helpful, but there might be others that
would have sbackup to do exactly what they wanted and nothing more. So
people should exclude the file they don't want to backup.
