** Description changed: After completed install of xubuntu precise i386: inserting any USB modem, none are recognised (I tried E220, E169 and E160E) in dmesg all you see is the fake CDROM device, indicating the usb modeswitch isnt happening eventually I tried `udevadm trigger` with the E220 plugged in, and it switched to serial and I could connect to the Internet with it when modemmanager eventually found it. From this point on any of the modems are recognized as USB serial when you plugin them in. - After reboot, back to square one until the first time you do a udevadm - trigger. + After reboot, back to square one until the first time you do a udevadm trigger. + --- + ApportVersion: 1.91-0ubuntu1 + Architecture: i386 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 12.04 "Precise Pangolin" - Alpha i386 (20120201.1) + Package: usb-modeswitch 1.2.0+repack0-1ubuntu1 + PackageArchitecture: i386 + ProcEnviron: + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-12.21-generic-pae 3.2.2 + Tags: precise + Uname: Linux 3.2.0-12-generic-pae i686 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: ** Attachment added: "Dependencies.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/925473/+attachment/2707786/+files/Dependencies.txt ** Tags added: i386 xubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/925473 Title: USB 3g modems dont switch to ttyUSB until udevadm trigger To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-modeswitch/+bug/925473/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
