I can confirm the workaround from mediterran81. After plugging in the external speaker, the sound is mute. When i mute und unmute the sound via the symbol in the top bar, the external speakers work as expected and the internal speaker is muted (as it should be). At one time i also had to modify the volume (just using the slider a little down and up) to make this workaround work.
