Based upon the wiki and Dave Coffins web site, the latest stable version
is 9.11, Oct 7, 2011 and provides support for the Canon SX30 IS and
Canon EOS 600D which several of my friends and I had purchased a while
back, and as dcraw is a tool used to accomplish work, we are quite
anxious to see it updated so we can get back to work. The 8.99 build is
quite old now, and it appears that even Ubuntu 12.04 plans to keep it.
This is quite disconcerting for those of us who moved from MS Windows to
a Linux OS in order to reduce the problems which prevented us from doing
our work.
