Rolf, I do not know, why the patch did not fix the problem for you. Did you verify, that the sources have really been patched? (I don't know how to convince the build system to apply the patch during fakeroot debian/rules binary, so I applied it by hand) Did you really install the newly build package? And (most importantly) did you close all instances of xfce4-terminal before trying again? If not, calling the new binary will simply tell the running binary to open another window and exit, so the newly opened window still runs the old code.
