Public bug reported: I managed to re-install 11.10 from the LiveCD, and I have Grub2 with Windows 7 start option and the other Ubuntu options. When I select 30.0.0.15 it loads to 'cannot read file, press any key to continue'. This happens probably 2 out of 3 times. I've looked for solutions on the internet but when it loads it works fine.
Previous bug (920412) was resolved by deleting the partitions and re- installing. I have all the latest updates from update manager and Grub2 works fine as Windows 7 boots every time. There are many suggestions on the Ubuntu forum about solutions but they are not all the same, so I don't really want to try any of these in case it makes the situation worse. If I respond by pressing a key, the laptop hangs and the battery needs to be removed before it can power off. As I say, when it loads it's fine, and the hardware works well with Windows 7, and I had no problems with 11.04. Is there a quick and easy fix for this?
