I see this behaviour but not reproducibly. I run kubuntu feisty but always use firefox for browsing.
If I right click on a flash part of the web page, sometimes firefox and all of the desktop freezes. The flash context menu is 'partly drawn'. I can still move the mouse but I can't click anything and can't type anything. The freeze usually happens when I've had firefox running for a long time. I can never reproduce it when I go back to the same web page. I have firefox 2.0.0.3 from feisty repos flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.31.0.2ubuntu1 sun-java6-plugin 6-00-2ubuntu2 Using nvidia driver in xorg This freeze provokes a huge memory leak in X. I switched to console and saw that Xorg was using 60% of 1 GB of RAM. After I killed the firefox- bin process, this went down to around 6% (normal). But when I switched back to X (ctrl-alt-f7) it was still frozen: I could move the mouse but not click anything. I ended up killing the X session. If ever I find a way to consistently reproduce this, I'll report it. The next time it happens, is there anything I could do to isolate the problem? ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Status: Needs Info => Confirmed -- Desktop freeze when right clicking on a flash with Firefox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/87440 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
