Ouch.  I guess there is already a bug-report about this?  I think they call it 
"work-flow"?  It would be great to streamline that process but there have to be 
regular freezes in order to make sure releases are stable.  Hopefully patches 
should get moved into the relevant package fairly quickly after the freeze is 
over.  

Anyway all this is not really relevant to this bug-report although obviously it 
has been a legitimate tangent.

Sometimes bugs has patches but nobody takes care to put the patch in the 
package and release the updated version.  
After submitting a patch you have to wait months before the patch is revised 
and accepted.

I personally think more forces should be provided in the bug hunting and
maybe less in developing program.
