Public bug reported: As documented here: http://developer.yahoo.com/blogs/ydn/posts/2011/06 /yahoo-maps-apis-service-closure-announcement-new-maps-offerings-coming- soon/ the Yahoo Maps API service ended September 13, 2011, and this API is used by the geoclue-yahoo provider.
If this provider is the only one available, it causes heavy CPU usage in indicator-datetime-service as found in bug #918546 This issue may be fixable upstream by updating the provider to use the new Yahoo Placefinder API since the geoclue api key seems to be valid with this service and the responce format seems basically the same. I have filed it upstream here: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45004 but until then, the geoclue-yahoo package should probably be removed from the build. ** Affects: geoclue (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/919364 Title: Please remove geoclue-yahoo, the Yahoo Maps API is disabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/geoclue/+bug/919364/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
