Thanks for getting back to me Sam. Unfortunately I have to agree with you that the only way to get your icons back is to restart the panel, which is kind of a nuisance, but probably unavoidable. If the application didn't crash, then it would be a problem either, but gimmie's still very much beta software, so that's to be expected too.
I'm going to leave this bug as needs more info for a while longer, and wait and see if anything else comes up.
