This seems to be a problem also in Ubuntu 12.04. Kworker takes 100% CPU on one CPU core every 60 sec. Sometimes there is a clash with pulseaudio and audio is distorted. This is on a desktop with an AMD X2 260 processor at about 3.2 GHz.
