Does the same thing in 11.10, I probably should have used a bigger nautilus 
window in the vid - the ext. * volumes will then show up under "Computer" 
As far as unity they must be unmounted , then remounted to return to the 
launcher which can be done in gparted or from nautilus's Computer section.
So in that regard should be fairly obvious to users..
