@nloewen Can you test the following kernel: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.2-rc2-oneiric/
This was the next kernel released after 3.1.0-2.3, so it would be good to know if that's when the regression was introduced. Based on the results of that kernel, we should have a starting point to bisect.
