Ok, I think I now get it...
This bug is related to the GNOME3-Team PPA, the only way to fix it is a fresh
install...
or a hellofolot of apt-kung-fu, You will have to pure everything that has to do
with that PPA.

=========! WARNING MAY COUSE AN UNSTABLE SYSTEM OR EVEN AN UNUSABLE SYSTEM
!=======
========= ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE /home ON A SEPERATE PARTITON OR HAVE A WAY
OF
BACKING IT UP TO AN EXTERNAL DRIVE/SERVICE, YOU MAY NEED TO REINSTALL! =======

first remove the PPA from the reposetory list

then log out

and go in to TTY1

stop GDM (or lightdm):
sudo service gdm stop

and that involves purging libgtk* and libgir*:
sudo aptitude purge libgtx* libgir*

then installing gnome, gnome-shell and gdm:
sudo aptitude install gnome gnome-shell gdm

and them make GMD the default DM:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm

I have still to get gnome-shell going again, so I am now in gnome classic...
