Ok, I want to say : thank you for quick "response" After installing the latest v3.2-rcN kernel, I do not need to pass "pcie_aspm=force" at boot time but still have the same behaver as with my previous kernel: battery life time and fan noise and still getting : "ACPI _OSC control for PCIe not granted, disabling ASPM" from dmesg
When I pass pcie_aspm=force to kernel : temp first boot : 55°C + fan working --after a while : temp = 44°C + Fan working Fan never stops! attaching the kernel log. ** Attachment added: "log.txt.tar.bz2" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/914097/+attachment/2666867/+files/log.txt.tar.bz2 ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/914097 Title: power regression + fan noise with with kernel 3.0.0-x To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/914097/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
