I see regression with the latest vv10 update . I was running vv8 before xmas,
had a week holiday and when I came back (my computer was on for the whole time)
my computer was still responsive and I noticed no lag. After I upgraded to vv10
monday 2. january (I missed vv9 'cause I was away) I've noticed some lag /
jerkiness when switching virtual desktops . I've been away since tuesday 3. ,
came back friday 6. and the lag / jerkiness is even worse. I also see in top
that compiz uses ~50% cpu while switching virtual desktops. compiz uses RES
325MB and VIRT 968MB but I don't have any numbers on what it initially was ...
I'm not a 100% sure where to report this, I'm following this bug as well as
773861 and 764330 . But I comment here since to me it still look like the
initial report in this bug "[...]Over the span of 1-3 days I see my desktop
consistently become more sluggish.[...]" .
NOTE: the lag I've got now is noticeable, but it's nothing compared to what it
was like before I started testing out vanvaugts patch'es. The lag now is more
like estethical, a littlebit annoying but not much more
UPDATE: jan. 9., today the lag is as bad as it was back when I started
following these bugs, and before I started testing vanvaugt's ppa. As of now
compiz uses 85%cpu and RES 377m and VIRT 1040m ...
