I can confirm this bug on Asus 1215B with Ubuntu 11.10 oneiric. I've tried kernel 3.0.0-14-generic and also kernel 3.1.0-030100-generic, both x86_64.
The problem is the same as described here. For me, suspend to ram works once or twice or even five times, but then it fails. One the failing resume, the screen stays black, and it seems that the machine is freezed. I have to remove the power cord and the battery to manage to boot again. Really annoying, and really a quite severe bug for a laptop.
