Public bug reported: When someone says my nick in an IRC channel, Pidgin goes into a tight loop and CPU usage zooms to 100%.
Using strace on the process shows it constantly trying to writev to fd 6, which /proc says is a socket. Bit of a dead end, though if I knew what socket it was I might be able to get learn more. Virtually all plugins are now disabled, sound is set to "no sounds"; etc. I'd like to think that this means this isn't audio related but it's triyng to reach out to _something_, failing, and retrying. I wonder what.
