I can confirm this bug on my Dell XPS 15. I have two outputs. One S/PDIF output, where everything works fine. But when I plug in my headphone the the other output connector, pulseaudio changed 'connector' to analog headphone and I get no sound. When I manually change connector from 'analog headphone' to 'analog speakers', there is sound comming through my headphone.
I also noticed that when changing pulseaudio from 'analog speakers' to 'analog headphone', the 'Speaker' volume in alsamixer is muted. When I unmute this, I can also hear sound (through my headphone) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/829843 Title: [Dell XPS L501X] Connecting headphones kills sound To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/829843/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
