I see slightly different behaviour. Settings reset on every log out,
but not on suspend/unsuspend. And not all settings seem to reset. The
only one that I notice that resets is the touchpad speed setting on the
speed tab. After log in, if I tweak the speed setting a little, it kicks
in immediately.

This is in 11.04, on various Thinkpads: a Thinkpad W510, Thinkpad x120e,
and a Thinkpad T41. I haven't noticed this in the version of gpointing-
device-settings that comes with 10.04.
