After using the fsync disabled versions from my PPA for over two years
now on regular basis i finally managed to crash my database. As Adrian
pointed out in Comment #65 unplugging the power cord is quite effective
;)

All in all i think it still is a good tradeoff for personal use to run
without the recommended safety from upstream, but you BETTER RUN some
BACKUPS  and be AWARE of POWER LOSSES while UPDATING your feeds. I'm
quite happy i could restore a week old backup.
