Bilal, Yes it's a settings issue. But I regard it as a bug in the upgrade procedure, since the settings where ok in 11.04, but where broken in 11.10. I've not had any upgrade issue's with Ubuntu till 11.10 and liked to "brag" about that as a selling argument for Ubuntu, now I can no longer say that upgrades on Ubuntu are pain free.
