+1 I have Lenovo3000 Y500 laptop & did a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10. I'm not able to use my touchpad. I'm currently using a USB mouse, which works fine. On some boots, my keyboard too stops working, & thus i can't even login. This behavior is erratic, i.e. sometimes the keyboard works just fine. However, touchpad does not work at all.
I have a dual boot to Windows XP, where the touchpad and the keyboard work just fine, thus i think its not a (damaged) hardware problem.
