Public bug reported: "git branch -M" was changed in 1.7.7, breaking the way buildbot uses git.
Here's the discussion on the git mailing list: <http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.version-control.git/185942> Here's the buildbot issue: <http://trac.buildbot.net/ticket/2127> The buildbot folks changed the way they use git to not step on the 1.7.7 bug, but I think they're nowhere near releasing 0.8.6 (which will contain the fix). The git folks fixed their bug after 1.7.8 closed, it will be in 1.7.9. So I request that Precise should ship with git version 1.7.9 (or newer) to avoid this problem. ** Affects: git (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/905526 Title: regression in 1.7.7 in "git branch" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/git/+bug/905526/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
