** Description changed: I have a Lenovo X300 with a Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN nic If I connect to the Cisco Infrastructure WLAN in the office the WiFi connection connects for a period of time and then drops. In the same office we have a Apple Airport Express that I am able to stay connected via WiFi. The problematic connection is using the iwl4965 driver, is connected at 18 Mb/s and using WPA/WPA2 encryption. This seems similar to the following older bug, but the fact that I have two different WLANs and can isolate it to only the Cisco AP's suggests that it is a new defect. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/277634 Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. + AplayDevices: + **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** + card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: AD198x Analog [AD198x Analog] + Subdevices: 0/1 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 + Architecture: amd64 + ArecordDevices: + **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** + card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: AD198x Analog [AD198x Analog] + Subdevices: 1/2 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: dpitkin 1620 F.... pulseaudio + /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c: dpitkin 1620 F...m pulseaudio + /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: dpitkin 1620 F...m pulseaudio + CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'Intel'/'HDA Intel at 0xfa220000 irq 47' + Mixer name : 'Analog Devices AD1984A' + Components : 'HDA:11d4194a,17aa20fb,00100200' + Controls : 14 + Simple ctrls : 10 + Card29.Amixer.info: + Card hw:29 'ThinkPadEC'/'ThinkPad Console Audio Control at EC reg 0x30, fw 7THT16WW-1.01' + Mixer name : 'ThinkPad EC 7THT16WW-1.01' + Components : '' + Controls : 1 + Simple ctrls : 1 + Card29.Amixer.values: + Simple mixer control 'Console',0 + Capabilities: pswitch pswitch-joined penum + Playback channels: Mono + Mono: Playback [off] + CheckboxSubmission: dcadeb29acf9948bfddecf68bba3ae02 + CheckboxSystem: bb422ca46d02494cdbc459927a98bc2f + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=87bb39b5-6a7b-42f8-add1-fefe1076b206 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Beta amd64+mac (20110921.2) + MachineType: LENOVO 6477AN3 + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.0.0-14-generic root=UUID=bd5a0962-bf58-426f-b3b6-ba7c42dbbbfe ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-14.23-generic 3.0.9 + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-3.0.0-14-generic N/A + linux-backports-modules-3.0.0-14-generic N/A + linux-firmware 1.60 + Tags: oneiric running-unity + Uname: Linux 3.0.0-14-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare + dmi.bios.date: 05/11/2009 + dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.bios.version: 7TET36WW (1.10 ) + dmi.board.name: 6477AN3 + dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.board.version: Not Available + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.chassis.version: Not Available + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr7TET36WW(1.10):bd05/11/2009:svnLENOVO:pn6477AN3:pvrThinkPadX300:rvnLENOVO:rn6477AN3:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: + dmi.product.name: 6477AN3 + dmi.product.version: ThinkPad X300 + dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO ** Attachment added: "AcpiTables.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/903953/+attachment/2634599/+files/AcpiTables.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/903953 Title: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN drops connections consistantly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/903953/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
