i have solved my problem, but created a new one :) i can now right/left click and also click and drag with perfection using the following code:
Section "InputClass" Identifier "touchpad catchall" MatchIsTouchpad "on" MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*" Driver "synaptics" Option "SHMConfig" "on" Option "JumpyCursorThreshold" "150" EndSection in /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf/10-synaptics.conf but unfortunately i can no longer scroll, and there are no longer any settings for scrolling or tap clicking in my mouse settings gui. also tap to click is no enabled but i don't know how to turn it off. ** Description changed: - i have installed 11.04 netbook ed. on my hp mini 210. everything is + i have installed 10.04 netbook ed. on my hp mini 210. everything is updated, as far as the update manger wants anyway. i tried the fix setting it up as a psmouse which worked sort of but then i could not scroll. so i reverted those changes. what is happening is when i left click and drag a second finger across the pad to move the cursor the mouse is all over the map, making it unusable. if i left click and simply drag that finger up or right, as those are my only options :) , that works fine. so it must be something with ignoring my clicking finger once the button is pressed. i thought i had it fixed setting the jumpy cursor thresh to about 200 but that seems to no longer be working, which is strange. any ideas?
